Riddle Me This
If hydrocarbons are "made of dinosaurs" (to simplify the argument), how, then could those dinosaurs have gotten stuck in the tar pits where we find all those preserved skeletons?

Hmmmm... the plot thickens.
A sticky wicket, indeed.
The dinosaurs that got stuck were "dry aged", so didn't turn to tarry goop right away like the other dinosaurs. Unfortunately, the dry aging process addled the brains of the dinosaurs, causing them to blunder into pits filled with their liquefied brethren. A sad tale...
